Quitman deputies join search for missing woman

The Albany, Ga., Police Department, Quitman County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are currently involved in an investigation which involves the disappearance of a 49-year-old white female from the Albany area.
Authorities have not ruled out foul play.
Vicky Jones, 49, from Albany was reported missing by her husband after she failed to return home from work late Monday afternoon. Jones is 4-8 and weighs approximately 95 pounds. She is a state employee and a very reliable and responsible person according to Albany Police Detectives.

Jones’ vehicle, a white 2009 four-door Honda Accord with Georgia License # BQ009X, was found abandoned behind a church in rural Quitman County earlier today by Quitman County deputies. The church is located on Cool Branch Park Road just off State Road 39 South of Georgetown.
Authorities with the three agencies have been at the scene where the vehicle was located for several hours but have not released any further information concerning the disappearance.
Anyone who make know the whereabouts of Jones or who may have seen the vehicle or anything suspicious is asked to contact the Albany Police Department (Detective George Barber), the Quitman County Sheriff’s Office (Chief Deputy Eddie Ingram) at 229-334-3726 or the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (Special Agent Matt Marchant) at 229-777-2080.
