Miss Fort will wed Mr. Knight on July 12

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Sibley Fort III of Lumpkin, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Whitney Carol, to Joel Norman Knight, son of Gary and Judy Knight of Springville.
The bride-elect is a 2007 graduate of Georgia Southern University where she received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She resides in Athens, Ga., and is employed as a pre-kindergarten teacher.
The prospective bridegroom is a 2007 graduate of Auburn University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in horticulture. He resides in Watkinsville, Ga., and is employed as a production manager at Select Trees. The couple will marry on Saturday, July 12, at the Lumpkin United Methodist Church in Lumpkin, Ga. After a honeymoon to Hawaii, the couple will reside in the Athens area.
