Citizens celebrate Earth Day

Students Azucena Alvarez-Perez, Tamia Wilborn and Devon Throecsh in Susan Sanders’ third grade class at Eufaula Elementary helped make their classroom into a rainforest to celebrate Earth Day.

Several Bluff City residents worked to make Mother Nature more beautiful Wednesday during Earth Day.

At the Eufaula Boys & Girls Club, representatives of Equity Group were planting beautiful flowers and a willow oak sapling around the facility on Sanford Avenue.

Tim Esslinger, general manager for Equity Group, says his company supports the Boys & Girls Club in a variety of ways. Equity Group recently donated a pickup truck to the organization and is a faithful supporter of the annual Steak and Burger Dinner.

“With Arbor Day just a few days away, we decided to combine the two,” said Esslinger.

Keshia Porter, employee relations manager, was planting marigolds and other bright flowers near the mural on the Boys & Girls Club building.
