Eight-year-old Ethan Faircloth of Eufaula was killed Wednesday in an accident that occurred in Georgetown.
Ethan was the son of Fredrick and Bobbie Jo Faircloth of Eufaula and attended Eufaula Primary School.
According to the Quitman County Sheriff’s Department, Ethan and four other passengers were traveling in a minivan on Bonaparte Road around 2:15 p.m. toward Bonaparte Retreat.
Passengers in the vehicle included Ethan, his mother, 10-year-old Dylan Hartley, 15-year-old Haley Deaux and 16-year-old Preston Lesperance.
They were reportedly traveling to Bonaparte Retreat to pick up Faircloth’s 18-year-old son, Timothy.
Chief Deputy Eddie Ingram reported that the mother had turned around to stop an argument between two of the boys in the back seat and drifted off the right shoulder of the road. Faircloth jerked back onto the road, causing the vehicle to spin out of control and flip over multiple times.
None of the passengers were reportedly wearing a seat belt, and all were ejected from the vehicle during the accident.
Ethan was dead when emergency personnel arrived on the scene.
Lesperance’s step-grandmother Marsha Lehr reported Thursday that Deaux was transported to Medical Center Barbour with a leg injury, Bobby Jo Faircloth was transported to Columbus for a leg injury but was expected to be released Thursday, Dylan suffered injuries to his leg and head and Lesperance suffered a severe concussion, road rash, whiplash and a back injury.

My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family at this time.
The angels are always near to those who are grieving, to whisper to them that their loved ones are safe in the hand of God. ~Quoted in The Angels’ Little Instruction Book by Eileen Elias Freeman, 1994
