Eufaula man dies in Florida wreck

A 55-year-old Eufaula man died Saturday when his 2006 Pontiac collided with another vehicle on State Road 281 in Santa Rosa County, Fla.

According to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol, Steven Ray Franks of Eufaula was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident along with the driver of the other vehicle, Daulton A. Davis, 71, of Freeport, Texas.

The trooper report states Franks was traveling south on State Road 281 while Davis was driving north. The report states Franks’ vehicle crossed the center line and struck Davis’ 2001 Mitsubishi SUV head-on. The report states both Franks and Davis were wearing their seatbelts.
