A woman who was found dead in rural Quitman County Wednesday evening had connections to the county.

According to Chief Deputy Eddie Ingram of the Quitman County Sheriff’s Department, 49-year-old Vicky Jones of Albany, Ga., who was found dead off Georgia Highway 39 near Cool Branch Road, had a lake home in the southern end of the county along with her husband.

The body of Mrs. Jones was found in a deep ravine at approximately 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. Her body had reportedly been at the scene for at least 12 hours.
