‘Riverfest’ set for this weekend
Face painting is one of many activities at “Riverfest”.
The Quitman County River Festival will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. (EDT).
Admission is free. The event will feature arts and crafts, face painting and concessions.
The Grassroots Arts Council will also present several music groups throughout the day including the Auburn Knights Jazz Band of Auburn at 12 p.m., the Danny Fallin and Big Ernie Country and Western Band of Albany, Ga., at 1 p.m., the Bright Stars Gospel Band of Fort Gaines, Ga., at 2 p.m. and the P&W Rhythm and Blues Band of Albany, Ga., to close out the festival.
The music groups are sponsored in part by the Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA) through the appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly.
GCA also receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
