Upshaw in highspeed pursuit, recovers cocaine and marijuana

Barbour County Sheriff Leroy Upshaw found himself involved in a high-speed chase early this morning following a tip that a large amount of narcotics would be coming into the Springhill area of Barbour County in the early morning hours of Monday.

Authorities received a tip from a confidential source that a male driving a 1997 White Ford Crown Victoria with an Alabama license plate had left Barbour County to pick up a large quantity of narcotics and would return later with the contraband.
