Pot plants recovered
The Eufaula Police Department recovered four marijuana plants, each 12-16 inches in height, growing in a wooded area on Dale Road this week.
Capt. Tim Marsh of the Eufaula Police Department reported that the area had been used to grow the illegal substance before, and investigators received information that such activity had resumed.
After walking the area on Monday, investigators recovered the plants along with a small handsaw and military style shovel. Police are still investigating the incident.
Indecent exposure
A female inmate of the city jail reported indecent exposure after a male inmate exposed himself to her and made inappropriate comments to her while she was on the way to the shower. According to the police report, several other male inmates have made similar offensive comments to her.
Endangerment
A local man reported harassment and reckless endangerment on Monday. Following a domestic dispute, a male offender attempted to ram the victim’s car while both vehicles were traveling from Georgetown to Eufaula on the causeway. The man reported that the offender had earlier threatened to kill the victim.
Property thefts
A car parked at an East Barbour doctor’s office was reportedly broken into on Monday morning between 8:20 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. A woman’s purse and its contents were taken from the vehicle.
Several thousand dollars worth of men’s and women’s clothing was stolen from the old Fish and More building on East Barbour Street Monday night. Marsh reported that police have recovered approximately half of the clothing taken and arrests should follow soon.
A Ruger 9 mm handgun ($700) was stolen from a man’s vehicle on Sunday. The victim reportedly gave the suspected offender in the case a ride to a convenience store and later found his gun missing from the car.
Another man reported a Ruger M77 rifle stolen from his truck on Tuesday.
Miscellaneous
Wendy’s reported criminal mischief after someone shattered the outer window of the drive through window in a failed attempt to gain entry to the business early Wednesday morning.
While performing a traffic stop, an officer observed a large bag of what appeared to be cocaine in the middle of the roadway. After thorough testing, police found the substance to be a cutting agent commonly used in cocaine.
Traffic report
The EPD reported 21 traffic arrests between Monday and Thursday mornings, including 13 for speeding, 3 for no proof of insurance, 2 for no seat belts and 1 each for running a stop sign, improper tag and failure to obey a traffic control device.
Six traffic accidents were also investigated during the reporting period.
