Eufaula Pre-Majors one win away from state tournament bid

Eufaula’s Ramon Lewis scored a run in his team’s 8-1 win over Luverne Tuesday at Old Creek Town Park.

The Eufaula Pre-Majors advanced to the district tournament championship round with a 8-1 win against Luverne Tuesday.
Dakota Maldonado belted a third-inning home run to give Eufaula the lead, and the local All Stars scored three runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to seal the win.
Maldonado finished the game 2-for-3 with the home run, a double, two runs and 5 RBI.
Tyler Crouch went 3-for-5 with two runs. He was also the winning pitcher, allowing just two hits in five innings while striking out nine. He only walked two batters.
Ramon Lewis had a hit and two runs. Bryan Bratcher and Jeremy Franklin also scored.
Eufaula will play Greenville tonight in the championship series. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at Old Creek Town Park.
With a win, Eufaula advances to the state tournament in Thomasville. Greenville must win twice tonight to earn a state tournament berth since Eufaula defeated Greenville 4-3 on Monday. If a second game is necessary tonight, it will be played at approximately 8 p.m.
