The heavily-favored Saints led 16-0 after the first quarter and 44-0 at halftime before cruising to a 58-21 win in Butler.

Home field advantage meant little for the Tigers (6-5) as they trailed 21-0 just one minute into the second quarter. The visiting Toros (9-2) scored 38 points before Eufaula finally scored in the fourth quarter.

Tigers prepare for tough first round game
The Tigers and the Toros meet Friday in the first round of the AHSAA Class 5A Playoffs. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Tiger Stadium. Tickets will be on sale outside the stadium for $7.

Dixie can’t overcome bad first half
The loss was especially bad for Dixie, which could have moved one step closer to a possible winning season and a playoff berth with a win against Chambers.
Eufaula loses battle of region leaders
Eufaula fell to 3-3 overall and 3-1 in the region. The Tigers can still mathematically win the region, but the team’s new goal is now to reach the playoffs and host an opening round playoff game.
