Couple to wed this weekend

Mr. Rufus Smith and Ms. Shirley Smith of Eufaula announce the engagement of their daughter, Lakesha Cherre Smith, to Kelvin Delan Bowens, son of Mr. Bobby Miles and Ms. Julia Bowens.

Miss Smith is a 1997 graduate of Eufaula High School and a 2001 graduate of Auburn University of Montgomery where she received a bachelor’s degree in science and biology and certification in cytotechnology.

She is employed with Laboratory Corporation of America as a health care billing specialist in Montgomery.

The prospective bridegroom is a 1996 graduate of Bullock County High School and a 1999 graduate of the Montgomery Police Academy.

He has been employed with the Montgomery County Police Department for 10 years.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 25, at 2 p.m. at Sandville Baptist Church. A reception will follow at the Eufaula-Barbour County Chamber of Commerce.
