Mr. and Mrs. Charles Larry Wilkinson of Valdosta, Ga. announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Charee Wilkinson, to Matthew Wayne Thomas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wayne Thomas of Eufaula and the late Angela Gulledge of Dothan.

The wedding is planned for April 4 at First United Methodist Church in Valdosta.

The bride-elect’s maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Clinton P. Powell of Valdosta, and her paternal grandparents are Mrs. Juanice D. Wilkinson and the late Mr. J. Burch Wilkinson of Valdosta.

A 1995 graduate of Lowndes High School, she received three degrees from Valdosta State University, a bachelor of arts in history in 2000, a bachelor of science in education in 2003, and a master of education in 2005. She was a member of Phi Mu fraternity.

She is employed by the Lake County Board of Education as a fifth grade teacher at Sawgrass Bay Elementary in Clermont, Fla.

The groom-elect’s maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John D. Gulledge and Ms. Margaret Eloise Gardner of Dothan, and his paternal grandparents are Mrs. Johnnie Thomas of Ozark and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lewey Thomas of Eufaula.

He is a 1998 graduate of Wicksburg High School and a 2004 graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering.

He was a member of Theta Xi fraternity.

He is employed as a project manager by Whiting-Turner Contracting Company in Orlando, Fla.
