The second annual Hands on History day camp will be held July 20 - 22 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. for rising fourth and fifth graders.
The event will be held at Fendall Hall and is sponsored by the Friends of Fendall Hall.
The event will include arts and crafts, food and unique history lessons on Eufaula’s heritage for participants. Last year’s first annual day camp, which included 25-30 youth, was a great success, co-coordinator Ashley Klages explains.
“It was great,” she says. “Last year, they (the kids) liked the art activities the best, so this year we’re really focusing on arts and crafts activities.”
The three-day event will take children back in time to experience life in the 19th Century.
On Monday, July 20, kids will learn about local folklore, folk music and art from the late 1800s.
“They’ll make coil pots, paint their own folk art and listen to folk music and folk stories,” says Klages.
