Earlier this year, First Baptist Church of Eufaula’s Adult Choir backed up Christian musician Babbie Mason when she sang at Carnegie Hall.
This Sunday (Aug. 29), Mason will return the favor when she comes to First Baptist for a concert. Adam Traylor, FBC music director, is looking forward to the evening.
“She’s a big name (in gospel music),” he said. “And we’re very excited to be hosting her.”
Mason’s concert is set for 6 p.m.
Mason has received 11 nominations for the Dove Award and has received two Dove Awards and two ASCAP Awards for the contribution she’s made to gospel music. Recently, the artist was inducted in the Christian Music Hall of Fame.
“Babbie Mason is one of a very few artists who has the ability to bridge the gap between a cross-section of races, denominations and cultures,” her bio states. “Her music is sung around the world and has been translated in (more than) 20 languages. Her powerful performances and gracious personality have opened doors to bring her before great men and women from the governor’s mansion in her home state of Georgia to an audience before kings and prime ministers at the United Nations."
