Couple will wed in June

Mr. and Mrs. John Philip Green, of Georgetown, Ga. announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Courtney, to Jarrod Heath Traylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Lynn Traylor of Rainsville.

Mr. and Mrs. John Philip Green, of Georgetown, Ga. announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Courtney, to Jarrod Heath Traylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Lynn Traylor of Rainsville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. T.G. Hicks of Dothan, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John J. Green of Dothan.

Miss Green is a 1997 graduate of Saint Aloysius High School in Vicksburg, Miss. She attended The University of Mississippi, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She received her Master’s Degree in elementary education and recently received her Educational Specialist degree with a major in brain-based teaching from Nova Southeastern University. She is currently employed as a teacher in the Newton County School System in Covington, Ga.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Shirey of Dutton, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Traylor of Rainsville.

Mr. Traylor is a 1997 graduate of Plainview High School in Rainsville. He received a bachelor’s degree in secondary education with a concentration in social sciences from Auburn University in 2002. He went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in history from The University of Alabama in 2006. He is currently employed as a teacher in the Henry County School System in McDonough, Ga.

The wedding is planned for June 26 at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga. with a reception to follow at the Discovery Center.
