Allison Cole Dowling and John Adam Mitchell were united in marriage on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 5:30 in the evening at Parkview Baptist Church in Eufaula.
The Reverend Glenn Brock officiated the ceremony.
Allie is the daughter of Eric and Bonnie Glover and Sid and Shannon Dowling of Eufaula. Her grandparents are Nora Ming and the late Lonnie Ming of Georgetown, Georgia and the late Johnie L. and Alice Dowling of Clayton, Alabama.
John is the son of James and Agnes Mitchell of Bowdon, Georgia. His grandparents are the late Alston and Leslie Taylor of Jacksonville, Florida and Edna Mitchell Davis and the late Lee James Mitchell of Holly Ridge, North Carolina and the late Evelyn Williams of Goldsboro, North Carolina.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless San Patrick Geneve optical white satin gown. She carried an all white bouquet of hydrangeas, roses and lilies, adorned with a gold broach with the initial “A” that was passed on to her by her late grandmother, Alice. Serving as Allie’s matron of honor was her sister-in-law, Brandy Dowling of Eufaula and serving as maid of honor was her sister, Sydney Dowling of Eufaula.
Bridesmaids were Erin Glover of Cordele, Georgia, Savannah Darrigan of Enterprise, Alabama, Christy Davis of Atlanta, Georgia, Robin Prather of Newnan, Georgia, Emily Schiraldi of Nashville, Tennessee, and Amanda Thomas of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. Junior bridesmaids were Miss Chelsea Orr of Eufaula and Miss Emma Glover of Dothan, Alabama.
Flower girls were Miss Madelyn Dowling, niece of the bride, of Eufaula and Miss Allison Mitchell, niece of the groom, of Carrollton, Georgia.
Serving as best man was the groom’s father, Mr. James Mitchell.
Groomsmen were Treavor Dowling of Eufaula, brother of the bride, David Mitchell and Stephen Mitchell, brothers of the groom, of Carrollton, Georgia, Rodney Bonham of Charleston, South Carolina, James Estep of Bowdon, Georgia, Kristopher Henderson of Bowdon, Georgia, Lanny Smith of Bowdon, Georgia and Jeremiah Yates of Carrollton, Georgia. Ring bearer was Hal Mitchell, nephew of the groom, of Carrollton, Georgia.
Soloists were Penny Everhard and Kiley Phillips, both of Nashville, Tennessee. Violinist was James Hopkins, saxophonist was David Vernon, and pianists were NancyWells and Cheryl Vernon, all of Eufaula. The wedding was directed by Melissa Hudson of Georgetown, Georgia, Norma Parker of Eufaula and Nancy Schroll of Pace, Florida.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Eufaula Country Club.
After a honeymoon in the Dominican Republic, Allie and John are now residing in Anniston, Alabama.
