Kristaline Patrick, Beyionka Gipson, Aaliyah McGee, Kaila Williams, Adrienne Woods, Ja'Ra Gilmore-Moffett, Ariel Jasper, Bria Rochelle and Lynn Mitchell were some of many Mobile area residents to participate in the "Vote Hard" tour.
At a Saturday rally in Eufaula, civic-minded youth were making a final push to encourage people to vote.
The rally, sponsored by Barbour County NAACP, hosted college students from Alabama A&M University in Huntsville and high school students from the Mobile area. The youth are part of a NAACP sponsored program called "Vote Hard" that sends youth across the state, going door-to-door to encourage citizens to vote during the Tuesday election.
Approximately 60 youth arrived in Eufaula Saturday via two buses. The buses were two of five that went to every corner of the state to encourage people to do their civic duty. The bus tours began in Montgomery at 8 a.m. for a kick-off rally at Alabama State University. Leonard Phillips, NAACP president of the state youth and college division, was one of the 60 youth to come to Eufaula Saturday. His bus was covering Southeast Alabama.
