Suspect charged in shooting
Jimmy Lee Jernigan, 25, residence unknown, was arrested Tuesday and charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
The arrest was made in connection with an incident that occurred last Saturday in the early morning near the Q-Ball. According to the report, the victim, a 22-year-old woman, was sitting in her car, which was parked in the parking lot across the street from the Q-Ball.
Jernigan allegedly approached the car and used profanity to tell the victim to move or he would hit her. He then started shooting a handgun in the direction of her car. The bullets struck the car through the front windshield, driver’s side door and the driver’s side window.
The woman was not injured in the incident.

Miscellaneous
Samuel A. Owens, 32, of 488 Hwy. 131 was arrested Friday and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Pepsi Cola machine outside of Rogers Auto was reportedly damaged between Friday, Oct. 24, and Monday. No money was reportedly stolen from the machine.

Property thefts
A black and gold lawn mower with a bear on it ($350) was reported stolen from a Highland Avenue location sometime between Oct. 16 and Oct. 18.
Kids World reported theft of a battery taken from a vehicle parked on the premises between Friday, Oct. 24, and Monday.
A woman reported her purse and its contents ($150) stolen Sunday.
Two silver bicycles ($150) were stolen from a Fairlane Drive residence Sunday.
An individual reported theft of two copies of the Dothan Eagle ($1.50) Monday morning.
Eufaula Head Start reported burglary and theft of five Cobra walkie talkies and chargers ($90) and damage to two soda machines ($1,000) and three doors.
Mutual Savings Life Insurance Company reported a burglary and theft of $75 and various cookies and sodas. The report states that a trail of cookies and sodas indicated the direction the offender must have fled.
A Eufaula man reported theft of approximately $200 worth of copper taken on Tuesday.
A red Murray bicycle ($200) was reported stolen from a Stuart Street residence between Friday, Oct. 25, and Tuesday.
An antique bed ($400) mattress set ($200), television ($100, antique oil lamp ($125) and a box of miscellaneous antique tools ($400) were stolen from a Highway 131 residence sometime between May 15 and Tuesday.

Traffic report
The Eufaula Police Department reported 51 traffic arrests between Monday and Thursday mornings, including 17 for speeding, 13 for no seat belts, 8 for no proof of insurance, 3 for no driver’s license, 2 each for improper tag, reckless driving and window tint, and 1 each for DUI, running a red light, driving while suspended, and driving while revoked.
They also investigated three traffic accidents during the reporting period.
