Criminal mischief
An Inlet Road resident reported criminal mischief after waking up on Saturday to find that someone had rolled a tree in front of the victim’s house with toilet paper on Friday night and damaged an Alabama football flag stand and bracket ($10) that was supporting the flag attached to the tree.
DUI leads to drug arrest
The Eufaula Police Department arrested Clay Johnson Comer, 30, of 1612 Wells Drive in Columbus for felony possession of a controlled substance (Oxycontin) Friday night.
Five pills of Oxycontin ($200), and various items of drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle he was driving in after police pulled him over for DUI. Comer was also charged with driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Other drug arrests
Johnny Lanier Frost, 25, of 320 Nancy Ross Drive in Eufaula was arrested Friday night and charged with possession of marijuana first degree, a felony offense.
In the incident, police recovered numerous bags containing a green vegetable matter believed to be marijuana.
Property thefts
A woman reported felony theft of property second degree and fraudulent use of a credit card after she left her wallet in a Dollar Tree shopping cart on Wednesday.
An unknown offender took the wallet and charged multiple transactions to her account.
Unlawful entry into a vehicle and theft of an amp ($50) was reported from a Level Acres resident. The incident occurred between Sept. 17 and last Saturday.
Dollar General reported theft of a pack of t-shirts ($5) on Saturday.
A Nancy Ross Drive resident reported burglary and theft of a silver and black 32-caliber automatic pistol ($300), a diamond and nugget ring-costume ($250) and a diamond solitaire ring-costume ($250). The incident occurred between last Monday and Saturday.
Criminal mischief
A man reported that his ex-girlfriend allegedly slashed four tires ($100) on his vehicle Saturday night.
Traffic arrests
The Eufaula Police reported 33 traffic arrests between Thursday and Monday mornings, including 12 for speeding, 7 for no proof of insurance, 3 for DUI, 2 each for driving while suspended, improper tag and failure to obey a traffic control device, and 1 each for no driver’s license, driving while revoked, no seat belts, improper passing and improper equipment.
They also investigated five accidents during the reporting period.
Crime report for Sept. 22-25
Jeffrey Dewayne Faircloth, 45, of 22 Pine Hill Street in Eufaula was arrested last Monday and charged with possession of marijuana second degree, a misdemeanor. Officers observed Faircloth’s truck parked on the grass at the Barbour Creek boat landing and stopped to tell him to move to the pavement.
According to a police incident report, they observed that he had an open beer bottle with him and two marijuana “roaches” in his hand. They also found a clear plastic bag containing a leafy substance believed to be marijuana.
Property thefts
Days Inn reported theft of a computer monitor ($350) after a known suspect came in and took the computer monitor from the lobby while the front desk clerk was away. The monitor was recovered and the victim chose not to prosecute, according to police.
A Cotton Hill Road resident reported someone stole three bottles of prescription drugs-Oxycontin, Ultram and Oxycodone ($1,450) on Wednesday.
A gold tennis bracelet ($5,000) and an oblong diamond ring (value unknown) were reported stolen from a Doren Street resident occurring between Sept. 1 and Sept. 24.
A lime green wallet was reported stolen at the Beeline #2 on Wednesday after a patron left the wallet at the store and returned later to find it gone. Police have video of a suspect.
Miscellaneous
Criminal mischief occurred at the Burger King parking lot on Saturday. An employee’s car was damaged ($1,500). The listed suspect in the case is a former employee of Burger King according to the police report.
A Chattahoochee Courts resident reported that some kids waiting on the school bus broke out the window ($1,500) to the victim’s residence on Wednesday.
Traffic report
The Eufaula Police Department reported 27 traffic arrests between last Monday and Thursday mornings, including 8 for no proof of insurance, 6 for speeding, 3 each for no seat belts and driving while suspended, 2 for improper tag, and 1 each for DUI, running a stop sign, driving while suspended, loud music and improper tint. They also investigated six accidents.
