Two arrested for car theft

Sidney Darnell Walker, 27, of 317 Jefferson Drive in Columbus, Ga. and Allandoe Cortez Boyd, 28, of 3116 Lansing Ave. in Columbus, Ga. were arrested last Wednesday and each charged with two counts of theft of property first degree.
The charges stemmed from a case where two vehicles were reported stolen in separate incidents last Wednesday.
Miscellaneous
n BankTrust reported criminal possession of a forged instrument after a customer tried to cash a check on an old bank account.
A deceased person’s name was on the front of the check.
The check amount was for $250.
n Kim McNear Cherry, 42, of 16 Paul Lee Parkway was arrested Friday and charged with felony assault.
Theft of property
n An independent homebuilder reported theft of a 40-foot aluminum extension ladder ($400) taken from an East Barbour Street location between March 21 and March 31.
n A Chopper bicycle ($250) was stolen from a McRae Avenue location Friday.
n Big Al’s reported a burglary and theft of property Saturday. An undisclosed amount of money and checks were stolen from the business.
n Theft of a Troy-bilt 22-inch lawn mower ($350) was reported from a West Barbour Street location.
n Two yard sculptures ($150) were stolen from a Bullock Circle resident Saturday.
n A marine battery ($70) was stolen from a boat docked at the Eufaula Yacht club Saturday.
Traffic report
The Eufaula Police Department reported 66 traffic arrests between Thursday and Monday mornings, including 19 for speeding, 18 for no seat belt, 7 each for window tint and no proof of insurance, 4 for no driver’s license, 3 for driving while suspended, 2 each for running a red light, running a stop sign and driving while suspended, and 1 each for reckless driving and DUI.
