Man attempts to snatch purse

Officers arrested Robert Lee Johns, 28, of 1757 Columbus Highway, Lot 10-A in Dawson, Ga. and charged him with robbery third degree, a felony offense.
The charge stemmed from an incident that occurred Friday in the Wal-Mart parking lot at approximately 6 p.m. Johns allegedly drove up to a Eufaula woman in the parking lot and attempted to steal her purse. The victim was able to retrieve her purse in the altercation.
The victim gave a good description of Johns’ vehicle, which led to the arrest.
Chief Investigator Ronnie Dollar commended officer Ethan Wiggins and the patrol division for locating and apprehending the offender.
