Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue will determine the next school board member in Quitman County.

Quitman County Board of Education members are divided on who they want to appoint as a fifth member to replace Willie H. Bussey, Sr., who died in late March.

Quitman County Schools Superintendent William Burns confirmed last week that the system has asked Perdue to intervene.
