Bennett will lead James' local campaign

Eufaulian Dr. Robert Bennett, the president and chief executive officer of Farmers Exchange Bank, will be the Barbour County Coordinator for Tim James’ gubernatorial campaign.
Dr. Bennett will head up organizing campaign efforts in the county, including recruiting volunteers and building support for James .
“Dr. Robert Bennett and his family have long been community leaders in Barbour County, making a difference. I look forward to working with him to build our team,” said James
.
Dr. Bennett is a former member of the Wallace Community College Foundation Board, former president of the Eufaula/Barbour County Chamber of Commerce, former president and chair of the Alabama Bankers Association and former president of the Barbour County Local Education Fund. This organization provides supplemental funding for public school reading programs and other academic endeavors.
He was named 2002 Young Banker of the Year by the state bankers association. He was Educational Director for the Alabama School of Banking. He has a doctorate in management and finance, and was on the faculty of the University of South Alabama and LSU Graduate School of Banking. Dr. Bennett and his wife, Tara, have two young sons, Harris and Rhodes. They are members of the First United Methodist Church of Eufaula.
