Arson and cruelty to animals were reported from the Clearing House of Barbour County, located on Jackson Street in Eufaula.
According to reports by the Eufaula Police and Eufaula Fire and Rescue, officials responded to a fire call early Friday evening.
Investigations showed that three fires had been set around the building using lighter fluid. The fires had been extinguished by Housing Authority personnel by the time firefighters arrived on the scene.
One of the fires involved a cat, which was found dead. The carcass was found severely burned and heavily charred.
Police have identified two suspects, both under the age of 10. A police report states that two witnesses saw the suspects burn a cat. They also saw the suspects running from the scene and saw the lighter fluid.
