A 2-vehicle accident occurred Tuesday at approximately 4:15 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 79 and Highway 131 in Baker Hill.
A white Dodge Ram driven by Lukas Richmond, 20, collided with a red Ford Explorer driven by Roosevelt Beck, 19. Lt. Ricky Kennedy of the Baker Hill Police Department reported that Richmond was speeding at approximately 75 miles per hour and was under the influence when he ran the intersection stop sign traveling north on Highway 131.
Beck had made a complete stop and was crossing the intersection on County Road 79 when the vehicles collided. Beck suffered severe neck injuries, Kennedy said, and was taken to Medical Center Barbour in Eufaula for treatment by Baker Hill Rescue.
A passenger in Richmond’s vehicle, Christopher Guy, suffered minor injuries, but wasn’t taken by rescue services to a hospital for treatment. Richmond complained of soreness, but did not seek treatment.
