Eufaula man, three juveniles arrested in connection to car thefts

Eufaula officers have arrested multiple individuals for a string of car break-ins reported in the past two months.

Kyle Huston, 19, of 35 Anderson Drive in Eufaula was arrested on Friday and charged with unlawful breaking and entering into a motor vehicle and theft of property first degree.

According to officers, at least 10 thefts from vehicles are believed to be connected to Huston.  Several juveniles are also connected to the case, said Sgt. Larry Hubbard of the Eufaula Police Department. At least three juveniles connected to the case have already been arrested on various charges.

» A 15-year-old male was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property first degree, theft of property first degree and unlawful breaking and entering into a motor vehicle.

» Two 16-year-old females were arrested and each charged with criminal mischief third degree.

Investigators have recovered much of the property, said Hubbard.

“All but some currency and a purse, we feel we can recover,” he said.

The break in the case came after investigators located a stolen shotgun from Troy. Two GPS units were also recovered from an Andalusia pawn shop. The rest of the recovered items were located in Eufaula.

Among the items taken in these thefts were:

» A set of Ping golf clubs and miscellaneous golfing items ($3,000)

» Canon camera and various camera equipment ($5,020)

» Mr. Coffee coffee pot ($35)

» Brown leather wallet and $427 currency.

» TomTom GPS ($200)

» iPod Touch ($250)

» Sylvania DVD player, TomTom GPS and $1 in change ($151).

» Ruger 9mm handgun ($540)

» Bushnell spotting scope and binoculars ($250)

» Garmin GPS ($100)
