» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

Bill Hamrick, a recent graduate of Eufaula High School, played last week in the Alabama Lions East-West All-Star Baseball Tournament.

Hamrick played for the South squad and led the team Friday with a 2-for-2 effort in a loss to the North. Hamrick earned a spot on the team after a series of try-outs.

For many years, East-West All-Star Baseball has been the showcase of baseball talent in the state of Alabama. The games bring together the finest young stars in the state and provide players with the opportunity to perform for college and professional scouts as well as baseball fans from across the nation.

The national East-West Games were first held in conjunction with Esquire magazine in 1940.
