British soccer camp next month

It’s all about goals.

The Eufaula Parks and Recreation Department will once again host a Challenger soccer camp this summer. This year’s camp will be held July 20-24 at the Eufaula Community Center soccer fields.

“British soccer camps provide players of all ages and abilities with the rare opportunity to receive high-level soccer coaching from a team of international experts,” a camp description on www.challengersports.com states.

“Each day includes individual foot skills, technical drills, tactical practices, small-sided games, coached scrimmages and a daily tournament. Equally important, the Challenger coaching staff provides [players] with lessons in respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship and leadership.”

There will be several different types of camps based on age:

n A “mini soccer” camp will be held between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. for ages 3-5.

n A half-day camp will be held for youth ages 5-9 and ages 10-16. Both camps will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

n A full day camp will be held for ages 7-9 and ages 10-16 from 9 a.m. 4 p.m.

The cost per camp ranges from $85 to $149. A free soccer jersey will be given to youth who are registered online 45 days before the camp.
