Eufaula’s 11-year-old All Stars (Ozone Rookies) don’t believe in quitting.

They rallied back from an early 8-1 deficit to edge Enterprise American 11-10 Monday at Troy. Eufaula will now play the host team tonight in the championship round. Eufaula must win twice to win the tournament.

Eufaula trailed 8-1 after two innings but scored five runs in the fourth, two in the fifth and three in the final inning for the win.

Payton Little and Ty Gilmore each had two runs scored for Eufaula and Caleb Bush, Riley Arrington, Dakota Robertson, James Doss, Ivan Gissendaner, Russ Bradshaw and Austin Davis each scored one run.

8-year-olds
Eufaula’s Pre-Minor team eliminated the Greenville Americans with a 14-0 mercy rule victory Monday afternoon in Troy.

Michael Lucas, Kyler Wells and Ed Eubanks each scored two runs for Eufaula and Drew Taylor, Henry Reeves, Sellers Smith, Drew Benefield, Spencer Biggs, Hugh Dollar, Jarrod Luke and Kevon Ivey each scored one run.

Eufaula plays the Greenville Nationals in an elimination game today at 6 p.m.

Belles

The Eufaula Belles were eliminated from the sub-district tournament after suffering a 10-6 loss to South Dale.

Georgeanne Whitehead and Whitney Harris each scored two runs for Eufaula and Mallori Green and Chelsea Maldonado scored one run each.

Dixie Angels

The Angels remained alive in the sub-district tournament by defeating Headland 2-0 Monday.

For the second time in the tournament Shelby Wood, Emma Tyler and Laura Turchiano combined to pitch a shutout. Turchiano drove in both Eufaula runners, while Lara Derrow and Brooke Morris made two exceptional defensive plays.

Eufaula must beat Dothan twice tonight to advance to the district tournament.

12-year-olds

The Eufaula 12-year-olds lost their first game of the district tournament Monday, falling to Enterprise National 15-2.

Eufaula took a brief 1-0 lead in the first inning after Andrew Price scored, but Enterprise National countered with six runs in the first inning and nine runs in the third inning.

Eufaula plays Troy American in an elimination game tonight at 6 p.m. from Old Creek Town Park.

Other action

* The Eufaula Ponytails were eliminated from their tournament after falling to Troy 4-3. Eufaula finished third in the tournament.

* The Eufaula Darlings will play Brantley tonight for the sub-district championship.
