Phillies too much for Marlins

The Wood Backhoe & Dozier Phillies breezed by the Eufaula Trucking Marlins 17-9 May 8 in Dixie Darlings play.

Savanna Wood, Morgan Grant and Annie Laura Clayton were all 4-for-4 in the win.

Clayton also earned the win in the pitcher’s circle.

Jodi Spivey was 3-for-3 with a home run to pace the Marlins, while Kursten McKemy was 2-for-3 at the plate.

Red Sox 11, Cubs 10
The Industrial Warehouse Services Red Sox slipped past the Eufaula Prediatric Clinic Cubs 11-10 May 5 in Dixie Darlings action.

Macy Crawford, Damaria Jackson and Jayla Young each homered in the win.

Crawford also earned the win in the pitcher’s circle.

Sydney Williams, Tynish Paige and Kirstyn Wiggins each had two hits for the Cubs in the loss.

Marlins 12, Braves 11
The Eufaula Trucking Marlins scored seven runs in the fourth and final inning to edge the Kiwanis Club Braves 12-11 May 5 in Dixie Darlings play.

Susanne Hudspeth and Jodi Spivey were both 3-for-3 at the plate, while Julianna Dunn was 2-for-3 at the plate in the win.

Hudspeth also earned the win in the pitcher’s circle.

Laiken Green and Emily Dunn led the Braves with a 3-for-3 effort.

Dixie Angels

Braves 12, Dodgers 0
The Tessenderlo Kerley, Inc. Braves blanked the Ameris Bank Dodgers 12-0 May 5 in Dixie Angels action.

Sydney Baggett, Kylie Sanders and Laura Turchiano were each 2-for-2 at the plate in the win.

Turchiano earned the win in the pitcher’s circle.

Emma Tyler was 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Dodgers.

Cardinals 14, Mets 2
The VFW & Ladies Auxiliary Cardinals cruised to a 14-2 win against the Family Dental Care Mets May 5 in Dixie Angels play.

Sarah Eubanks, Nikki Clark and Shelly Beaty were each 2-for-2 in the win.

Clark earned the win in the pitcher’s circle.

Amy Casker, Brooke Morris and Shelby Hawkins each had a hit for the Mets in the loss.
