Three Eufaula High seniors signed letters of intent Wednesday morning to play college football.
Tyreece Mayo will attend Florida A&M in Tallahassee. Arenza Johnson will attend Miles in Birmingham and Marquist Thomas will attend Faulkner in Montgomery.
“This is not the destination, this is the beginning,” Eufaula High coach Dan Klages told the large crowd which filled the EHS commons area. Parents, family members, friends and coaches joined the players as they each signed .
Mayo, a 6-2, 170 lb. defensive back/wide receiver, finished his senior season with 52 tackles and six interceptions, including two picks against rival Charles Henderson. He also led the team with 24 catches for 618 yards and eight touchdowns.
Johnson, a 5-10, 197 lb. linebacker and fullback, was second on the team in rushing with 549 yards and eight touchdowns. He also had 81 tackles and an interception against Paul W. Bryant in the first round of the playoffs.
Thomas, a 6-3, 313 lb. offensive lineman, helped the Tigers average 257.8 rushing yards and 38.3 points per game.
