Lakeside girls win 13th straight game

The fourth-ranked Lakeside Lady Chiefs rallied from an early deficit to defeat host Springwood 51-33 on Tuesday.

Lakeside (17-4) trailed 9-6 after one quarter, but pulled ahead in the second quarter thanks to a 15-6 run. Lakeside led 21-15 and 42-31 at the second and third quarter breaks.

Lakeside freshman Kasey Grant nearly had a triple-double. She finished with 21 points, 19 rebounds and eight steals – all team highs.

Peyton Brown followed closely in scoring with 20. Jasonie Guice added six points, and Lexie Gibson had four points and 10 rebounds.
